Redshank. A common tillage weed back in the day, before SUs. Was a problem weed in beet and has a very long lived seed. It is one of the first weeds to appear when buildings etc. have been cleared.

As Soissons correctly says redshank.

I often heard and dont know if its true that where redshank is plentiful, it is a sure sign of a lack of lime .

Field is peat, am I right in thinking that you cant apply lime to peat soil?
You can apply lime to peat but it can soften the surface for a while after application.

The target pH for peat soils is 5.8 compared to mineral soils needing a pH of up to 6.3 for grassland.

As others have said the weed is redshank. It's relatively harmless, cut it and it's gone
For the docks an thistles, legumex Db or underclear
