Winter oats 2021

Is Winter Oats at GS32?
Mine is a long way from it.
There is always a world of money spent shortening the first inter node on Oats by 1/2".
I can never see any advantage in it, I have never seen Oats lodge at the first inter node.
What’s your typical shortening program on winter oats ? One pgr at GS32 ?

What night temperature would you be happy to go in with PGR at?

6 degrees plus I would think but I'm no agronomist. The very minute the sun went in here tonight, the frosty haze was down.

That field is at GS32 anyway, but it is reasonably sheltered and has been very forward since sown. Especially compared to the other block I have which is a week behind but different type of ground.

We have the first PGR on the oats (Barra) 12 days now. It's not so much the shortening effect but the stem wall thickening and strengthening effect of the trinexypac (moddus etc) in the GS31 PGR that makes the crop more resilient from my experience.

Moddus is a very different PGR. as you state, and it makes sense to get it on.

What are people thinking of using as the T2 spray on Winter Oats?
I use to go Opus + morpholine + Talius at T1, followed by Jenton T2 and Elatus T3.
I went Helix + Talius T1 and will go Elatus T3, but can't find anything I am happy with for a stop gap T2.

I topped up my talius at t2 with a good shot of generic folicur, cheap and cheerful after a cold dry spring. Will go with elatus for t3
Same story here. A prothio SDHI mix was recommended but I went for a generic Folicur at 1.0L along with 0.2 Talius.

Went with 0.5L of Fezan (tebuconazole), 0.625L of Modem/Comet, 1L of Ceraide, 3.75kg of Combitop, 0.5L of Mancozin and 0.1L of Zintrac.
Thanks for the advice had forgotten Tebu was still available, the Fezan is the nicest Tebu I have ever used, no paint thinners in it at all.20210511_174621.jpg20210511_174618.jpg

Oats are looking well sure what could go wrong. I must give the blades of the straw chopper a run of the emery stone .
