Doing the same myself Tuesday evening.
That's my most forward field but there is not much in it. Given the forecast, I might finish it all off on Tuesday now and shut the gate.

Mine could do with waiting till the end of the week, but I am on a 2 spray program and it needs to be on now. That's my most forward field but there is not much in it. Given the forecast, I might finish it all off on Tuesday now and shut the gate.

The advice seems to be to spray when the head is half out rather than waiting until its fully emerged, a bit like barley at the paintbrush stage. Yours looks to be at that now.I'd have to check my book but I'm overdue on that score, definitely wasnt sprayed last in May. It's very clean thus far though

Yes. It can be difficult to get sufficient coverage on the leaves if the panicle is fully emergedThe advice seems to be to spray when the head is half out rather than waiting until its fully emerged, a bit like barley at the paintbrush stage. Yours looks to be at that now.
No.You’re out late Ger, would you not be concerned about spraying a crop with dew on it? Back in the days of sugar beet I noticed a few times when spraying beet that the last thank put on late in the evening when the dew was on the crop didn’t work as well as what was sprayed earlier.
No.
I would have no worries about the dew.
Still have 3 fields to go.
It is Tuesday in all but name and the last field it will be Tuesday,I thought you were waiting till Tuesday!!
Finished all of my own tonight too, too good of an evening to let it pass. Gates closed in a few fields so.
