Winter Wheat 2015

I see the crop had 36 grains per ear in July. That sounds lower than normal to me. It said somewhere that the lad in Lincolnshire that had the previous record a few weeks ago was not sent forward for verification, wonder why.

It would also depend on the plants per metre though.

If you had a lot of plants wouldn't that affect the others and lead to a smaller ear?

A lot of these records are just willy waving anyway, no different to the lads you hear in the pub on about yields where the field has gotten much smaller during the year....
