Greenhouse Gas Emissions

How the f#€£ do farmers think that modern civilisation is not having an impact on our environment?
While I hate a lot of the bullshit that goes with climate change and how it is hijacked by all sorts of nuts and that big business are setting the agenda we can't continue using the resources of our planet at the rate we are.

Yes, out of date info.

I also googled her while I was drinking my coffee and she's a biologist, therefore I'm in more of a position of comment on climate than her
that’s funny considering most of the people pushing the alarmism have little or zero scientific qualifications.

Make the change to smaller tyres if you want to reduce your footprint.. :fight:

I'm not pushing alarmism at all. Just pointing out it's there.

I'll still take out the turf machine next year. Its broad changes in energy policy will make the biggest difference. Renewable electricity and gas as a back up cause its the cleanest form of fuel.

When the ban comes on turf cutting ill diversify.

Can I ask, those that are more informed, is landfill back in vogue?
Fosil fuels are basically materials that were buried, so is burying waste the best way of preventing the carbon returning to the atomsphere?

Shove it all back down the mines

Has anyone explained how we're going to slash emissions from agriculture whilst at the same time dramatically increase production? I seem to have missed that bit :scratchhead:
This article say food production could have to increase by 80% by the end of the century, I read another article lately that predicted a 30% increase was needed by 2050.

How are they going to get lads to increase production when they don't pay for whats produced now. Instead of feeding cattle grain, they will feed the grain straight to the human population instead

It's great to see our president coming out with more nonsense on this stuff today. I wonder what's he doing to cut down his carbon footprint? How many less foreign trips :rolleyes2:

It's all a lot of fluff, I heard something on the radio today that consumer spending at Christmas is up 1.5% on last year and is up considerably on Celtic Tiger levels. At the end of the day nobody really gives a shite, they all go on about their sustainable vegan Christmas on social media but in the privacy of their own homes it's business as usual. You only have to count the ever-increasing number of f*cking Christmas jumpers to see rampant consumerism is swallowing up everything in it's green-eyed path.

Hopefully soon enough the experts will realise that all the Current green energy solutions in the world wont stop what is happening to our planet. Its either mass population control and/or finding a new home for some of our children/grandchildren.
Sooner or later all nations will have to work towards this

Imo some sort of family education/birth control education programme needs to be introduced. It's actually very sad that species on this planet are having to go extinct because of our exploding population. I was watching presents being opened at Christmas and the bin overflowing with wrapping paper. Presents that today are destined for the bin. I remember getting a bike when I was a kid a christmas with just a ribbon tied to it.

We are being bombarded every second of every day with adds to buy things. All these adds are designed to trick our mind in to buy things. You can't watch a video on YouTube anymore without having to watch an add first. And now you have to watch 2 adds before you can watch the video.

Porn seems to be freely available in our towns on any weekend at this stage from what ive heard. Dont see how these folk would settle with anyone anytime soon and have 4 or five children. That might lead to population control in its own way.

They say that Japan is suffering population decline, that young people are working long hours and socially reclusive, leading to low birth rates. It's similar in Germany and other developed economies.

Africa and Asia are where the main sources of population growth seem to be coming from however.

I am watching a programme on channel 5 Ben Fogle New lives in the wild, he is staying with a scientist in Russia, they are doing an experiment cutting down the forests and growing grass and increasing cattle numbers to try and slow down the melting of the permafrost. It is something to do with how the grass reflects the sun compared to the trees. And then were being told to cut cattle numbers and grow trees:scratchhead:
