they were both green when it arrived, looks like original paint certainly on the marker.

Maybe so. On any ES I have seen they haven’t been painted, on an EG it’s round bar and also not painted. Either way don’t paint anything else or it’ll look like you’re hiding something like all the rest of the painted up ‘stuff’ on DoneDeal.

Yep, the indicator is supposed to be green. The spanner probably came from another plough and was put on our plough by the dealer.

I wouldn’t dismiss painting it if it’s done properly. Intending on keeping it for a long time so selling isn’t on my radar although I know what you mean about the painted up look.

Just a quick follow up, 140-150 acres later the ram is still dry as a bone and chrome looks fine. Looks like the rechroming worked out ok.

Yes, it sends oil up through the shaft. It’s a memory ram so it’s part of that function.

I'd put a light film of grease on the chrome during storage, even if stored inside. Even condensation can cause a few rust pits to start up.

I’ve some white grease spray I use on rams in storage.

Look`s like there made from c45 grade . En8 and c45 according to google are the same .
