Hi all, my Name is Tom Turley the rep for the Heatgaurd Evolution sheeting.
it is a fantastic product and thanks to the Agri Engeer for posting the Details of our sheeting, and calling to our stand at the machinery show.

if a roof is over 18ft and not spaced there would be 4 layers over lapped at sheet joints, 2 bottom, 2 top. Have been told to cut like its fiber cement and also just over lap and not cut, assuming its not spaced sheeted.

What is the protocol for overlapping sheets at 4 corners, are the sheets of the same thickness as fibre cement and if you had to cut them would this effect the integrity of the sheets and would this impact the warranty,

I have never got a confirmed answer, been told cut like fibre cement and also not to cut as it will allow water in and could affect warrantee. need to look into it more

Haven't unwrapped ours yet but it will be getting cut, the roof won't but the sides will....it may be getting a run with a blowtorch after cutting to reseal it if needed but we will cross that bridge later.

That would be a good job. Might need to test if it would melt or shrink apart. Wonder could it be heat and clamped sealed like the proper ends or just run of a sealant

Atleast if cutting angles you’d have the angled off cuts to play around with first and see how they react
 
Got some of the heatguard up over the last few days.
As it is supplied

And after it’s cut, not much chance of sealing it again unless you made a tool for it, too much trouble for what I’m doing, open ends will be undercover anyway

What is it like to work on?
Your timber purlins look to be spaced quite close, so I would imagine it is not too spongy?

I wonder if you laid it out on a big 6 sheet, then used a heat gun and a roller could you seal the ends up fairly quickly?

I hope to use it on a 22 ft apex, so roughly 12ft each side, can it be gotten that long?

It’s grand, I’m sitting, sliding and crawling rather than walking about over it but once you get your head around it being “lights” it’s fine, probably better than tin as it would dent.

Purlins are 3’, would normally be 4’ but went a bit closer and it worked out ok too.

Yeah looked up on their website fitting instructions, think it’s 10~12mm hole first to allow for heat movement.

Even a modified pair of vice grips with a bit of heat would do for small bits, maybe not that pretty but do the job.

Those are 6.5 meters on the roof.
