Inverter welder

Looking for a bit of advice, I've a 200amp inverter welder that's only been used 2 or 3 times since I got it 10 months ago. Went to use it yesterday and the amp setting wouldn't go above 54. The aul lad said it was no good at all, bit he's used to the old type arc welder, i used it again today and still at 54, but seemed a bit better than yesterday.
Is it something I'm doing wrong or would I be as well bring it back when it's still under warranty?

There isnt a button on it that has gotten pressed by any chance ? I have an esab inverter and on the front there is a push button for a welding torch set up that got pressed without me knowing and it would have you wondering why your welder has no power. Other than that i think i would return it while under warranty

I don't think so, but I'll take a look tomorrow at it. I wouldn't mind but I do keep it and the rods in the utility room in the house because they'd get damp in the shed.
