I put in my VAT claim on December 28th and got an approval message on Myrevenue later that day. They lodged the money to my account this week. I don't understand why there is so much noise about this in the media, nothing has changed. I think someone put down the wrong description and started crying.anybody here of any clarity on this...iv parlour to reclaim but not looking good from what im seen on journal this week....iv it approved on tams alright but ders very little clarity on the issue

If you read very carefully what you are allowed to claim for and get the same wording on your receipts and on your claim, you should be ok

Not really. It was standard practice to reclaim vat on a new bulk milk tank in an existing dairy. This now appears to be not allowed.I don't understand why there is so much noise about this in the media, nothing has changed. I think someone put down the wrong description and started crying.

What about gates, feeding barriers, cubiclesApparently there is a new lady in charge of that section in revenue and she looked on done deal and saw bulk tanks and automatic calf feeders for sale there and wasn't happy.
I think the definition is fixed equipment, anything that can be taken out and sold she isn't happy about.
Why would you? just expense the topsoil this year at 100%if a lad purchased a load of topsoil from a quarry to finish off a building job and there vat charge could he reclaim the vat from revenue?? thanks lads

Why would you put topsoil over rubble? Are you grassing the patch. Do you want to buy more loads of soil, I would do you a good deal. Is there even Vat charged on topsoil?used to cover rubble instead of screenings

Are you building a dwelling house, a slatted shed, what are you building, you won't get the vat back saying you're covering some rubbleused to cover rubble instead of screenings
What if you were making a loss, would you be better to claim the VAT back or not.Why would you? just expense the topsoil this year at 100%
