The tax men confuse themselves id say that could send them over the edge haha
What really confuses them is to send them in a cheque for a random amount such as €57.33 with no explanation and after a few weeks apply for a rebate of €26.74 as you had sent them in the wrong amount due to a miscalculation.
They will be confused so will stick your file in the bottom of the pile and you will gain a few months reprieve.

I had a reply written out for you but I deleted it as I'm fairly sure you've already got a pre prepared answer with lots af figures that your desperate to shoe horn in .
Anything that has to ship a product from the UK to the EU or vice versa.
On a serious note, thoughts on brexit aside, I think it's remarkable how much things have "stayed the same". Boris hasn't even jumped on the PR bandwagon to say we've got rid of rule XYZ that was holding us back.
Haulage is a bit of a shitshow atm.

Haven't noticed much difference around here anyway. Milk up a half cent. And beef holding.
Heard that they are fighting over fish and that theres a lot more paper work.

I looked at bringing in some seed from NZ yesterday. Just 60kg of trial seed.
NZ is a 3rd country (UK has just been added to the 3rd country list).
Anyway, I investigated what was needed.
It can only be brought into Dublin or Shannon, not allowed in via Cork port or airport.
Phytosanitary certs, shipping agent needed to be hired. Various paperworks, notice given to Dept of Ag border post which inspects it etc etc.
In the end I said f*ck that and I sourced it in France.
The same would have applied to seed from the UK.
Not worth buying something from the UK unless I really have no choice.

Had to get a hedgecutter part, not in Ireland so ordered in the UK this afternoon, supplier wasn't able to say anymore other than he hoped to ship it next Tuesday, because its UK manufactured it will carry Vat at this side but no other tariffs, it'll be interesting to see how long it takes to arrive but I honestly don't expect it next week.
There was a post here last week about trump being a protest vote from the disenfranchised, brexit is the same.
So there are clearly a disenfranchised portion of the UK population. Nows the time to work out why and what can be done.
I think myself it's a few things.
No more than ourselves, an overcrowded public health care system.
Incomes are stagnating, house prices and other commodities are on the up.
Immigration is a big one too, its competing for resources.
Brexit doesn't solve any of them. If you're not arsed with the hassle for a bag of seed, what does that mean for everyone else?
Will that also apply to commercial seed being imported from the UK. It'd be the first positive I could see coming out of brexit if red label becomes uncompetitive or stopped altogether

Yes, it certainly does.
In addition to the issues I mentioned, commercial seed now faces the additional issue that the U.K. certification process is not now recognised in the EU (this will probably be solved though).

out of curiosity, how does sending a package to the uk to david king work out now? business as usual or there any changes. the 4wd button is not working on the panel in the tm so was thinking on sending it out to them to get it fixed but we kind of skeptical to get it sent due to brexit

Speaking to a few machinery dealers this week, they are all pulling their hair out trying to get parts. The consensus is bypass the UK (and UK businesses) as quickly as possible and establish an alternative supply chain. Local builders providers sent out a list of price increases largely due to brexit and the increased cost if transport, and raw materials. Brexit is already costing Irish and UK businesses a lot of money. Interested to hear of any upsides.

on the news there at 6, they were on about getting steel into the country. wouldnt be long before smyth trailers might have a shortage
