Don't like the idea of poking a metal object in there incase it shorts across the contacts.Or a pin, I had a Blackview supposedly tough phone, heavy enough, took a fall one day from hip height and something let go inside it, end of. Cheap and cheerfull Xaomi Redmi unlocked now, cost €150 and it does me fine.

I think 3 to 4 years is a bit much, this is the price range I go by and get any where from 1 to 2 years outa them... they take as much abuse as any, as it's not overly expensive you don't be to bothered.... now I will admit I have recently went from a cheap new phone to an older ( hand me down as I was stuck) but better phone and I have to admit there's some difference... my last cheap phone could do Google pay, much slower, no touch I'd camera was fairly poor and been honest he camera was a big thing... when I break this one it should be rather interesting.Buy a new Samsung for €150-200 and stick a decent case and screen protector on it.
You'll get a good 3-4 years from it if you don't smash it. The most sensible smart phone economics I can make out.
Email them to yourself if they are small file sizes, or drop them into Google drive or use wetransfer2nd iPhone in 10 years. Think it’s a 7. I’m used to them now so will stick with them now. How do I get machine manuals transferred from the phone to a laptop? I’ve around 10 service and repair manuals on it which I’d like to put on a laptop.
With @13spanner filthy mind he would go for wetransfer.Email them to yourself if they are small file sizes, or drop them into Google drive or use wetransfer

I have had a couple of doogee phones. Always a great spec for low money in comparison to other phones. I never had an issue with the sound or the camera but found the same problem with every one of them. They used an older operation system and after about 12 months some of the apps that I was using wouldn't function 100%. I found things like the calving camera taking an age to pan or tilt or a banking app missing one function awful frustrating. Back to a basic enough Samsung now for the last 6 months and its been flawless.I had Samsung's for years and like them but they got expensive for the better models and parts like screens are very expensive compared to others.
Using a redmi note 10 pro for six months, cost under 300 and excellent camera and battery life.
Had a couple of doogee tough phones but the sound during calls was poor on the good one,an S96pro(excellent camera though) and the camera was v poor on the cheaper one.
Considered an s22 Samsung last year but very expensive and I'm not kind to phones.
I use it a lot and a good camera is essential for my business, but hard to justify a thousand euros plus for a phone.
My two nephews had new phones last summer same time as me,an s22 and I think a high spec Google phone.
We did a rough camera comparison test and very little difference in any of them, which isn't reflected in price
Last week I changed my old I-phone for an I-phone 13 . I would have a lot of Apps on it. Heating for the house, banking, radio, and numerous stuff that the son inlaw put on it to do with the Television. I may get a Batter Box for it.When I said I was looking for a iPhone maybe I didn't say it correctly I have a Nokia 300 tough phone at the moment on my 3rd one 2 replaced under warranty tis a grand phone for calls text messages whaps app put the screen is very small next time I need new phone il move to more modern model all confusing between iPhone, smart phone, android etc all I want with next phone is to be able to see the marts funeral masses done deal and the odd bit of banking
