Not really. I'll wait as long as I dare before sowing. It was Nov last year when I set my wb and I had next to no bydv at all in any of it. Seed treatments are gone and aphicides are only so so now.

With WB do you spray for mildew and when ?

With WB do you spray for mildew and when ?

You would spray for it but not until the spring. Later sowing dates is a huge help as mild winters and thick crops makes for a breeding ground for mildew.

Very disappointed with Valerie here this year, just didn't yield and straw broke down badly. Carnival which isn't approved beat it by .6 of a tonne per acre and had better straw. What varieties are ppl planting? I'm considering some pixel 6 row but it has very bad straw breakdown figures. What are other people's thoyghts?

I had Carneval 2 years running and sowed Valerie for this harvest, very disappointed with Valerie and would happily sow Carneval again. Pixel is more prone to ramularia so be careful with it.

No-one is that pushed with this BYDV resistance so ?

Joyou is tolerant of bydv, not resistant.
