Ford/New Holland

I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it. A nice little tractor and all that. But If I was spending €18k on a 2wd tractor, I can think of several other brands that would offer a lot more space and comfort. Ours is grand for what it does, but when you spend a few hours in it on any day, you'd have enough stiff knees and strained neck.

Fully agreed

A four wheel drive with all the toys that 1 has not even making that sort of money.

Didn’t think they were that rare, knew of a few and seen two advertised in the last 6 months, were they not made for 5 or 6 years @nashmach ?

They were a short enough run before the fritzmeier cab came in. There was an absolute peach of a one for sale a couple of weeks back in Wexico but was sold when I rang. It was work the 4K being looked for and more. It was on done deal. As is still up but sold. Picture below 563A86BE-07D5-49D1-A4BA-31AC141EF422.png

A rare little tractor, only made for a year or so.

I have seen a few of them too, not with the ford cab though

I’d say less. That’s with the Ford cab though. The 10 series started very early in 1982 ?When did they start 600 series ? November 75 a 5600 appeared 1/2 a mile from here. 1 st of the range I saw. The 5600 here landed 26/2/1976.
2 long dead neighbors of ours bought a 2600 with a Fritz cab in Jamiesons in Roscrea mid June 76. Uncles of mine bought their trade in , a pre force 2000. That’s how the date strikes me , as they had it as their hay turning tractor , bought along with a new Lily Gemini .

Without looking up or researching I’d say the fritzmeier cab came in in 1976 on the 26/36/46 etc and the ford force was around until 1973, maybe even a bit of 1974. So at most the run of those 26/36 00 with the fieco/ ford motor co can would have been 1-2 yrs and most of them are in shite now which is why the Wexico one struck me. All is needed was a shine.

Just looked in tractor data. According to it the change over was 1975. So that would put the run of 3600s with those “old” ford cabs at a year or less I’d reckon.

@jd-baz , ptk44 has it here. The 600 series was made from mid 75 to mid 81.

The new noise regulations came out in mid 1976 which meant that Ford moved from the safety cab to the Q cab on the English tractors. On the three cylinders (26, 36, 41, 46) the Q cab was a bit big so the Lambourne cab came out around 78/79.

The Fritzmeir cab tractors came from the Antwerp plant.

@Ptk44 that 3600 wasn't far from here and I saw it a few times. Very sound genuine tractor.

600 series , roughly from my own memory came out in, November 1975 , to end of 1981. There is a June 1975 3000 with power steering parked in a shed this 10 years , needing an engine overhaul a mile from here.
Ford/Fieco cab , from November 1975 to possibly May 76 . The 2 old neighbors Fritz cabbed 2600 could have have been delivered in the last days of May 1976. It’s 1 st battery lasted 12 years. In weather as cold as we have now , they would put a kettle of hot water in it to warm it up for easier starting . They drained it every night every night , as they didn’t trust anti freeze.

Ps , that Wexford 2600 is an absolute gem . It even has the lollipop indicators still fitted. Long gone on most. And correct oval style exhaust , but I think from a bigger tractor ? It seems a little deep on thee silencer box , to me .

Agreed. It should be the Ben burgess round exhaust but “hey ho” as big Verne would say .. that would be like kicking claudi Schiffer out of bed for having a spot on her elbow

Ironically, you featured in my grand plan. If I bought it I was going to ask was it far from you so that I could leave it there until it could be shifted to its final destination! I left it a week too late and could not get down there any earlier.

Correct style alright but it looks like of a four cylinder compared to the original one on the 3600 here. Looks more like the 5600 one you'd have.

No, no, not the round exhaust, it's the right type alright just too long.
