A few not so great pics from this morning as I let them onto another bit340E21DD-5A10-4AB9-977D-74A8AFC113A1.jpeg41575B97-8FEB-44D8-ADAA-72AC230EBDF1.jpegCF206A5B-A733-4E78-812E-0A708C16B5C2.jpegF18204C4-B025-4C22-B4EC-85426C810438.jpeg2CBAAE3E-4D41-439E-B822-09ECD642136D.jpegB7C1A4A3-90BA-4A28-92B3-79FD6A638330.jpeg8D0F88D5-76B5-46A5-9F97-73F70885E7DC.jpegB7B4B8A5-713F-451C-832F-AFDBFB416625.jpeg
A few of the girls joining the herd in the spring, easy spot the one we hoped wouldn’t have held in calf :rolleyes2: don’t know what set her off, been a1 right until the day we went to scan them and then got a bit flighty, has settled down again since and hopefully will settle down more or she’ll be a one trick pony22F39F07-BC26-41EE-B23C-C0DDA3EF3DFE.jpeg1FDBAA3C-3F8E-48BC-9756-944C366E5DF7.jpeg

This lad was sent to Lourdes. He was an autumn born calf from last year. Massive size. Over 100kg when born. He didn't walk for 2 months after he was born. Just dragged himself around the field and sucked the cow as he lay on the ground. He appeared to improve a little bit every day. We had planned to have him put down several times. By nuvember he was able to get up. He couldn't walk but could stand. He spent the winter out in a dry sheltered field. He was walking dragging a back leg by January and hobbled around the place all summer. In the last few weeks he appears to have come perfect. No noticeable limp. Wish every animal had such a good story.

I have one pick of the crop. Have been approached by someone who wants to buy her. He says he wants to breed with her but he does a few winter fairs so might intend selling her on. He wants me to put a price on her that I want. View attachment 68503 View attachment 68504 View attachment 68505 View attachment 68506 View attachment 68507 I think I might keep her on for a while and give her some feeding and decide what to do with her in 2 months time.

The blues didn't weigh as well as I thought they looked. 465kg was this lady in the attached picture. €1140.
The white heifer in the picture weighed the best at 505kg.

I was disappointed enough. I had bullocks that I thought looked lighter but weighed heavier.

‘Out of a square British Friesian and a flaming Angus stock bull’...they said.

This in a field beside the village. The circus asked my wife for permission to peg him out there months ago...and she completely forgot. It isn’t every day you find one of these on your land.
