6 cylinder fordson major

The front rims are original blue/grey Major ones.

The seat looks like one of a later Ford Force 5000.
Didn't think they looked original!
I'm doing a bit or research online and 90% of. People are putting the axle pivot out in front. I don't want to do that as it looks shite and you can't put weights on after.
Anyway radius arms off a dexta or a 20 seem to be the way to go but lads are saying the axle can't pivot.

Got to agree on the brace, back the way looks a mile better as long as you can make a bracket to let them rotate slightly at rear yer winning

It would need to move up and down as well as rotate wouldn't it?
No thinking about it wouldn't once the ball would be able to rotate inside the cup

Aye it was a ball and socket was my thinking its the kind of thing I,d make a model of to check the geometry of it before going full size.

You'd think there's no rust on yokes when there covered in muck and shite it's when you start ripping you really see how bad things are.
Took out one of the brake actuators this evening and that's a s far as I went.
So far I'm seriously impressed by how simple things are.

Just a few pictures of mine with the 360T(2704ET) engine. As I said before,a lot of temporary stuff done just to get it up and running. Haven't been near it in a couple of years but might make an effort soon again!
Pic 1.Either do this with the water pipes or move the bottom rad fitting to the other side.
Pic 2. Reckoned this extra bracket would give a bit more strength to the side rails given that the sump isn't truely joined to the bell housing.
Pic 3.Pivot point for the a frame is just moved away back from the original position. Pardon the re-bar.Now have proper steel tubes to use instead!
Pic 4 shows the oil filter just misses the side rail but only with the 4 cyl filter bowl.
Pic 5 shows the side of the timing case overhangs the side rail and a tiny piece needed removed with the grinder to allow it to clear.
Pic 6.Just another view of the pivot point.

It will be a long time before she sees a road run
There's a good bit of crap on it someone wired up indicators so I must remove all the wiring and switches ect, the back mudguards are rotten so I'll have to get them one foot plate is rotten, brakes are stuck on.
The engine is absolutely perfect the tractor hadn't been started in 7 years and within 4 swings it fired took 5 min for it to clear its throat and it ran like a dream so if anyone is looking for an engine for a major it will be for sale
Do you still have the engine? How much do you want for it.

I'll be washing the back end out and putting a new filter in some ripping to change a filter

It's a while since I've looked and others will confirm but I think there is a plate underneath which can be removed that makes it much easier to change that filter.

Progress has been slow this week between working and doing other bits and pieces.
Ive one half shaft done and one set of brakes done.
Ive the other side all ripped so ready to go hopefully tomorrow night

Forget about your 6 cylinder and add four more :Whistle2:

There was a guy around county Galway on the 80’s who ran Nuffields and majors with 6cyl engines cutting silage with double chop harvester.
I recall the Nuffield in particular was a weapon on the road 30-35mph Pre 50k gearboxes and trailer brakes and all cab-less. They were rare men back then.
