Claas hillsider? Cool.Well, we cut the 24ac of summer beans yesterday. Sown on the 19th of May.
Spend was a grand total of €161/acre including machinery operations.
Couldn't believe it but they yielded 1.47tn/ac of nice dry beans. Sowing so late would have been a disaster in most years but the weather to harvest them and the combination of price and protein aid saved the day.
11stn of Boxer seed/ac. 1 run of Signum and a run of Reglone to dry up the weeds etc. No fertiliser, no weed spray. Strip tilled, no roller, two passes of the sprayer, harvested and delivered.
Also ended up with a fresh field for wheat that we weren't expecting to have.
There were areas that had no beans as the ground was still so wet at planting. The slots of the drill didn't close up in most of the field. The plan had been seed spring barley but it would have been a dead loss if we tried to plant it in those conditions.
We make the best plans we can and things don't always work out that way!!

Not direct drill the wheat afterwards you’ll be flying it altogether

Considering the crop and sowing date, the approach you took to manage the crop spray wise. That is a very good result.Well, we cut the 24ac of summer beans yesterday. Sown on the 19th of May.

I always think olives in Ireland do not taste the same as in warmer countries. Me thinks @Hardysplicer spends too much time in Greenacres looking at the rich and famous.I love those wexford Olives
