A couple of little to sort out/ get use to, but so far so good. You have the new plough nicely shining now G!!
Sorry didn't see this yesterday, no still have the Lemken, more suitable for a dry Autumn than a wet spring. Is the Lemken gone?
Lovely job and combination there, the Packomat must put some pressure on the toplink while on turnover. Not a big fan of these new skimmer stalks, stone catchers and I find it is more awkward to them than the old ones.View attachment 104143View attachment 104144View attachment 104145

We bought together, only difference between the two ploughs is the depth wheels, he went for a hydraulic wheel. Was passing this evening and seen some of the field ploughed. Lots of smoke rising too. Lucky enough not from anything expensive. Those pakomats do a lovely job. See a man over my way that you know got one this year too. Leaves a lovely finish to the field
Them new skimmers are a curse for sure, we replaced them with trash boards on the last plough we brought. A lot less blocking with the trash boards though they can cause sticking to the boards on very light ground mainly in the autumn. Not a big fan of these new skimmer stalks, stone catchers and I find it is more awkward to adjust them than the old ones.View attachment 104143View attachment 104144View attachment 104145
Oh I didn’t realise he changed the whole plough. Taught he just got the pakomat for his original plough. We bought together, only difference between the two ploughs is the depth wheels, he went for a hydraulic wheel.
Yeah since the fields were let in together, I would say the long runs could easily be 1Km.Gods acre is something similar I think. 850m long runs I measured one time.
I love long fields like that fuck the headlandsA neighbour has a field like that 1km at the longest one of the lads said it was about 10mins each way ploughing. They now break it into sections
I have one field with around 800 m in the longest part, I split it in three parts while harvesting to be able to get around with a full tank.Longest I have is 350m but a neighbour has one field 1,000m long. They split it across the middle for harvesting.
One problem here was that there was 5 or 6 slopes in different directionsI love long fields like that fuck the headlands
I worked a field in England once upon a time that was 530 acres with 23 headlands, it was just about a mile across at the longest point and less than 300 yards at the narrowest point. Some pain to plough even though we had auto steer!I love long fields like that fuck the headlands
