I think it was looking that way at the start of the week before it rose on Wednesday.€210 for barley €220 for wheat? More maybe?
Agree totally, the arse will most likly fall out of it before our price is set.I think it was looking that way at the start of the week before it rose on Wednesday.
Of course in these times, it could drop on Monday.
The lack of exports from the Ukraine/Russia is the cause and I feel like it’s like water backing up in a pipe, it’ll still have to come out sometime….
To be fair, it’s dangerous volatility for Irish grain buyers too. The people who buy from them won’t have much sympathy if they pay a high harvest price and it falls after.Agree totally, the arse will most likly fall out of it before our price is set.
Jesus that wouldn’t fill us with confidence190 barley 195 wheat on acc price at 20 % m and 62 bushel. paid today on all gain supplied up to last Sunday night barryroe coop
Mills who buy F all Irish harvest grain would not be buying much at current prices in hope Black Sea grain will move again, it leaves native supporters of grain in a difficult place. To be fair, it’s dangerous volatility for Irish grain buyers too. It wouldn’t be the first time that it happened. 2022 was rough.
I would be expecting a good bit more on top of that when prices are fixed and trading bonus ect .we averaged 205 on ours with the low moisture and good bushelJesus that wouldn’t fill us with confidence
no its not, the difference between paying €200, €210 or €230 isnt going to break any grain buyer or end user, but it will break the farmer producing it. its not as if grain is trading at €300 plus. merchants have successfully being able to abstract at least €320 to €350 for the last 12 months out of end users. To be fair, it’s dangerous volatility for Irish grain buyers too. The people who buy from them won’t have much sympathy if they pay a high harvest price and it falls after.

they are selling a premium product, its their job to market it and show end users why its deserves a higher priceit leaves native supporters of grain in a difficult place.
