The older masseys

Lovely example. Obviously I was wrong but I always thought that the 390T replaced the 398 long before 1996?
Dont think so, iirc the 398 was available alongside the 390T but not many went for the 398. The 398 had a heavier back end (and possibly a few other differences) which I presume is why it was in the line up
At first glance, that one is crazy money, but....will the buyer lose much in either depreciation or repairs in the next 10 years..

21 plus vat? Sweet Jesus that's fairly strong money to be asking. Especially as it's been resprayed at least partially and the plastic cab top is a bit faded. Hours aren't exactly low either. Not high but not low.

If it had 2,500hrs or less there might be some sense in north of €20,000 for it, but with 6,500hrs could it even be €15,000?????

I hadnt noticed that it was plus vat, nearly €26k!
The 'right man' may go close to €20k, but not a hope of getting that surely

18x6 gearbox aswell, most people want the 12x12 shuttle box.

I always preferred the 3 stick 12speed box, hated my 12x12 and my neighbors 18x6,never had a Massey since.

Alot of money for a turbo`d 165 with a 188 backend!

My 20k would be spent elsewhere.

The 399 had piss poor lift capacity for a 100hp tractor, fan belt went on my JD as I'd put 1.5t in the sower so I lifted off with the loadall and hitched it onto my 399,feck the arms started dropping! I had to boot it round the field quick to lose some weight.

You are right Mike. Both sold alongside one another from the early 90s. The 390t had the 398 engine (4.236t) but a 390 backend whereas the 398 had the heavier 399 backend.

Nice tractor but 18 Inc VAT would be plenty I would have thought.

That kind of money would get a very clean TS110, 4355 or 6210 or similar now :scratchhead:
