Maize 2021 varieties

We sowed the first week of may under plastic , early variety but with so much height and leaf on it it’s going to be at least another 2 if not 3 weeks away.

One lot drawing through the village of borris and someone else at it outside bagenalstown on the borris Road. I wouldn't know the names down that neck of the woods

I was drawing straw most of the day on the Bagenalstown Borris road. Must have missed them. Well I know one of the outfits must have been John Deere and claas with red smyths. They very local to me.

Yes they were drawing down through borris alright, I forget the others to be honest, I was only half minding.

We’ll be starting chopping next week, a full 5 weeks later than usual. Looking like a barnbuster of a crop. Technicians came this morning to do trials on yield. They reckon we’ll push 23tDM at 33%DM and 35-40% starch. I don’t want it over 36% starch…then lads coming harvesting the choice sq mètres aren’t that accurate either.

We cut 50 acres down past gurteen college today and done a job local to home yesterday so whoever u saw wasnt us. Must a been Joe doteney
Couple of Claas and a Lamborghini, thought it was your gang, obviously not

Nice grain fill from the p8200(purple tint) and p8201. The p8201 is still behind on ripeness compared to p8200 but not far off now. It's going to be ripe sooner than I thought. Still small amount of juice in the stem and grain of the p8201. If all the field was p8200 we be pretty much cutting. Another week will do alot for it.

Would it not get stuck in that trailer with the back door that way and un-tapered sides?
No I was actually at the pit when that load was being tipped. Got slightly stuck on the top center that the cover rolls over on but came out no problem. There was 3 of them trailers drawing today. That’s a 6250r in the picture. Another had a 6215r and the other one had a 828 fendt

The 828 is a demo but they don't like it. There's a major row between the owner and tfm at the moment

Yea was told all that. Was told he was on about buying a fendt though. The lad wasn’t sure what size or would it be the 828. Yea they all said they rather the Deere’s. Tfm be doing bad to loose him. He has bought a serious amount of Deere’s over the years.
